Break the Cycle provides free case representation to clients ages 12 to 24 with the following types of legal matters in DC: 1) civil protection order (CPO) cases related to dating violence, sexual assault, domestic violence, stalking, and cyber stalking; 2) family law cases (custody, child support, divorce); 3) Title IX cases (school advocacy related to dating violence, sexual harassment, and sexual assault); and 4) criminal case advocacy (explain the criminal process, help clients draft Victim Impact Statements, advocate for client's desired outcome to prosecutors, help clients access Crime Victims Compensation assistance, accompany client to criminal case hearings).
